  • 2 eggs
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion, bell pepper, and celery until soft (about 5-7 minutes). Add minced garlic for an additional minute.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed vegetables, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a greased loaf pan or shape it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread half of the tomato sauce over the top.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
