  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup and brown sugar to create the glaze.
  5. Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven, apply the remaining glaze, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) is reached.
  8. Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
