  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour (white, spelt, or oat)

  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon (optional allspice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, water, oil, vanilla extract, and white vinegar. Whisk until well mixed.
  3. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon (and allspice if using). Mix until just combined.
  4. Grease an 8-inch baking pan and pour in the batter.
  5. Bake for 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
