Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 120 ml warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp sugar (for filling)
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp butter (for apple filling)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 40 g flour (for crumble topping)
  • 25 g sugar (for crumble topping)
  • 25 g cold butter, cubed (for crumble topping)
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk and egg; mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add softened butter to form a smooth dough. Knead for about 5–10 minutes.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. For the cheesecake filling: beat together cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. For the apple filling: melt butter in a pan; cook apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until tender.
  7. Prepare the crumble by mixing flour and sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  8. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread cheesecake filling on top, followed by cooked apples and crumble topping. Roll tightly into a log shape.
  9. Slice the log into six equal pieces; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  10. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar with milk for glaze; drizzle over cooled buns before serving.
